Hermitage

As it turns out, the Burro Lady passed away. She rode her burro from town to town around here and had anything she'd need packed on him. She was found dead sitting up against a fence, and when the authorities came to investigate, her poor companion was anxiously waiting for her to come back. I have to wonder about how someone gets into that position. I suppose we all must play the hermit at some point in our lives, but what happened to her to make her choose a life away from the company of other humans for so many years? Did someone break her heart and make her lose her faith? Did she no longer trust herself to associate with others; did she hurt someone? Or did she discover the answers, rise above all the conversational bullshit, and wander in her wisdom? I struggle so much against my impending hermitage, because it feels in every way completely against my own true nature, which is probably why it's crucial I cease the battle and embrace what may be to gain from all this.

sad story about the burro lady, and her burro who too is a hermit now. its strange, our ideas of waht we are and what we have to do. i find that more then anything gets in the way of being and doing.
